Warren Ski Club

Racing Program

As a WSC member, you can join our famous BLACK SHEEP RACE TEAM!!!
We compete in the CMSC (Cleveland Metro Ski Council) Race Program - consisting of 15 Ski Clubs racing on weekends at various resorts. Skiers and Snowboarders compete with those of the same class (skill level) - and there are several classes, ranging from "Are you crazy? I can barely ski!" to "speedsuits and custom wax".

To determine your class, you "qualify" by doing 2 runs down the course at any CMSC race. Your first chance to qualify for 2011 is January 5 at Boston Mills (see schedule below). As you're skills and times improve, you will bump up through the classes. Go at your own pace and race as much or as little as you want!!!

Each race consists of 2 runs, leaving plenty of time to cheer on your teammates, free ski and sit at the bar.

At the end of each race day, all teams gather for the awards ceremony. Trophies are given and team points are calculated.
After awards, prizes are given away by vendors and ski resorts - boot bags, lift tickets, gift certificates and even ski's!!!! You're almost gauranteed to go home with free stuff - at least a new t-shirt or something that blinks incessantly.

And don't forget your free shot at the bottom of the hill after your runs. Yager is not just for breakfast anymore.
So whether you've never tried racing or you're a seasoned vet - it's a great way to be part of a team, improve your skiing/boarding skills and make some unforgettable friends.

CHECK OUT OUR RACE SCHEDULE BELOW AND GIVE IT A TRY!!!!
